Gotta start somewhere

Last night, after being hounded by the voice of my characters all day, I finally opened a Word doc and pounded out two pages of a beginning for my next book. Not the best writing I have ever done, as I determined NOT to think about structure, grammar, or punctuation. You know, freestyle writing. Well, it was just okay. The ideas I had tried to hold onto all day were barely still there and very disappointing once on the page. Note to all of us, if you hear the voices speaking, grab a pen and paper or even a cell with voice record because if you do not capture that great scene, it may well be lost forever.

So today begins the first day of my looong weekend of photography and while I am a little apprehensive about the party tonight and subsequent wedding event tomorrow, I guess it could be worse. I could be helping my hubby do video and struggling with all that equipment. We will actually be together tonight as he will come over to my event once he finishes at the rehearsal where he will have to go.

It will probably run late tonight and I will not have time to write, and will instead be perusing my pics to make sure I got all of them, etc. In fact, writing may not happen this weekend again at all. I have another wedding on Sunday so....

Hope you have a great weekend where ever you are. Make it special, make it art.

I always write down when my characters talk to me. I won't stop writing until it is written. My daughter has learned if I'm writing frantically don't talk.
