Gotta tell you guys this has been the week from Hell, and there is no end in sight. My job is out to kill me, I am convinced.
Today I prepared to get on a plane to Sioux City IA. I did everything right. I got on the plane in time. Then we didn't take off. We sat for almost two hours waiting, and finally learned that there was a mechanical problem. Sigh. Okay so we waited more. Then we finally took off! Zipped around the tarmac... and .... went back to the gate. That mechanical thing? The engine! YES--they said the engine was malfunctioning. So... being that they are all safety first and everything... we went back. Waited another while. When they said the mechanics thought it would take about another hour, they let us leave the plane in order to make other arrangements. Well, my connection was now shot to heck.
As I stood in a gate a few feet from where I had gotten off, waiting with my cabinmates to find other flight arrangements, the crew member shouts across the room on the microphone "OKay folks, it's fixed now". HA! And you think I am gonna fly on that plane now that I know it has ENGINE problems????? What? Are you effin' nuts???
Yes. I did. I waltzed back to the gate, replaned, and flew on THAT aircraft. I decided that I had two choices, fly or wait, and waiting was never my strong suit. Anyway, we made it to Minneapolis, and of course there was already a plane in our gate cuz we had delayed so long, so we had to wait on the tarmac in Minn. for an additional twenty mins.
BUT! I got to take a little fast jet, and it got me here in like forty mins or some new world record.
I didn't get to work with my people today as planned but I am here. Wish me well tomorrow yall. I am gonna need it!
