Welcome to another edition of kindness Tuesday! I have been feeling sort of puny the last few days and was wondering if I would even remember to do my special post, but glory be, I did it!
And what a great idea I have had for today's post!
I have a friend at work whose son is serving in the National Guard. At the moment he is on the gulf coast and soon he will be going somewhere else, maybe even being deployed. He is totally unafraid, and unconcerned, and that is what my post is all about.
How frightened, how worried would YOU be if you were suddenly told you were going to be sent to a FAR away land, to serve, maybe even perish, in the protection and service of your country?
Me too.
That's why I appreciate our service men and women SO much. I want you to think of a kindness you can bestow on someone in uniform today. That's the Kindness Tuesday command. Go forth! bring a smile to someone serving you today. Be it a cop, a fireman, or a person in the military. They need your KINDNESS!
Tell them how much you appreciate what they do for YOU and your FAMILY today and every day as a normal part of their life. Then, if you are one who prays, would you say one? Say one for my two nephews who are serving, one in Iraq, and one in an unknown location. Say one for my friend's son, who is doing this service so unselfishly.
And know that on Veteran's Day, tomorrow, those who gave the ultimate price for our freedoms thank you for your kindness being expressed today.
