
Some of us have family coming in from out of town, and we are struggling with what to serve. We want elegance, but simplicity. It is OUR holiday too, right?
So here is an ENTIRE menu for you for a winter dinner party. ENJOY!

Soup Can Beef Burgundy
Parmesan-Buttered Noodles
Hot French Bread Butter
Blackberry Tortoni
Soup Can Beef Burgundy
3 lbs. beef stew meat
flour
1 10-3/4 can cream of mushroom soup
1 10-3/4 can condensed beef broth
1 soup can of burgundy wine
salt and pepper
1 bay leaf
1 teaspoon oregano
1/2 lb small pearl onions, peeled
4 large carrots, cut into chunks
1 lb small new potatoes
1/2 lb whole mushroom caps
1 10 oz package frozen peas
1. flour stew meat and saute in oil in a large dutch oven until brown on all sides. Add two cans of soup and soup can of burgundy wine. Cover and cook in a 350 degree oven for 2 hours
2. Uncover and add onion, carrots, and potatoes. Cover and return to oven for 30 minutes. Add mushrooms and cook an additional 30 minutes. Add peas and heat through. Serve with the buttered noodles, Makes 6-8 servings.
Parmesan buttered Noodles
prepare noodles to package instructions
melt butter over noodles toss to coat add parmesan cheese to taste.
Hot French Bread
there was no recipe for this, as you can pick up a loaf at the grocery store. Follow package instructions.
Blackberry Tortoni
1 cup whipping cream, whipped
1/4 cup sifted confectioners' sugar
1 egg white, stiffly beaten
1/2 cup finely crumbled coconut macaroons
1/4 cup blackberry wine
1 cup well-drained blackberries ( canned)
1. Fold sugar, egg white, crumbs, blackberry wine, and blackberries into whipped cream. Spoon mixture into muffin cups lined with krinkle-paper liners. Freeze.
2. To serve, remove from freezer 1 hour before serving. Top with whipped cream and maraschino cherry, if desired. Makes 4-6 tortonis.
